Definition of the Role:

Provides a high quality and flexible service ensuring our buildings and facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly condition.

Purpose of the Role:

To support the Facilities Manager to provide the highest standards of cleanliness across our organisation. Responsible for taking care of our facilities, cleaning and ensuring the provision of excellent customer service to our residents.

 

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out day to day cleaning duties in your designated areas as stated in the Cleaning Specification.
  • To implement all Health & Safety Procedures as per YMCA St Helens policy.
  • To log day to day maintenance / repair works in the Maintenance Book (located at Main Reception).
  • To log day to day work completed (form provided), ensuring that any areas of concern are recorded and escalated.
  • To cover for colleagues in times of holiday and sickness absence.
  • To report verbally to Housing Support Officers any concerns regarding specific residents.
  • You are employed primarily as a Domestic Assistant but in times of staff shortage and as directed by the Facilities Manager you will be expected to work in other YMCA St Helens areas and buildings and therefore your times of work may vary.
  • As the first point of contact for some residents any concerns should be reported to the Duty Housing Officer and recorded on your Daily Cleaning Sheets.

Essential Criteria:

  • Cleaning experience within a Hostel or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety for cleaning product usage

20.5 hours per week, 09.00am – 12.30pm Mon – Fri  & 7.00am -10.00am Sat

Salary £12,792
