Community Hub

Community fridge

A practical way for people to share good quality food that might otherwise go to waste.

Community fridges and freezers are stocked with surplus items donated by local supermarkets, cafés, food producers, community groups, and sometimes individuals. This can include fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, chilled foods, frozen items, and other products that are still perfectly safe to eat but can’t be sold for various reasons, such as over-ordering or short shelf life.

So far, we have supported 40 households through our community fridge and pantry, providing emergency food supplies to a total of 58 individuals.

Community library

Our Community Library is more than a place to borrow books it’s a vibrant, inclusive hub where learning, creativity, and connection come to life. Thanks to generous grant funding, we’ve been able to transform this space into a welcoming resource for people of all ages, backgrounds, and interests.
We now have a book swap located in the Beacon Cafe area. Funded by St Helens council along with two other small libraries, making books more accessible for young people and residents.
