Definition of the Role:

To oversee the youth hub quality, evaluation and monitoring program, ensuring fulfilment of funding and reporting requirements.

Purpose of the Role:

To manage funding and compliance related tasks, ensuring that evidence showing outcomes and quality are effectively collected and monitored and reports to SLT and funders are prepared to a high standard and on time.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage funding and compliance related tasks, ensuring that evidence showing outcomes and quality are effectively collected and monitored

  • Ensure all project managers/coordinators have project plans which show how they will deliver outputs to a high standard and have a realistic plan for collecting evidence of desired outcomes.
  • Oversee compliance meetings and reporting schedules – ensuring funder reports are completed satisfactory (with evidence of outcomes) and on time (in partnership with full youth work leadership team).
  • To work with project managers/coordinators to design and implement evaluation processes and evaluation recording systems and forms to evidence outcomes and outputs for funding and QA reports.
  • Ensure all marketing and promotional material/activities acknowledge funders appropriately

Lead the monitoring of youth Quality Assurance (QA) related issues ensuring they are reported and actioned upon appropriately.

 

  • Maintain an accurate record of Youth Work Team members training and CPD
  • Coordinate a calendar of staff training, and CPD opportunities for the youthwork team

 

 

 

To work with the youthwork leadership team to promote and network with partners, external organisations and funders.

 

  • To be responsible for external bookings and the bookings calendar for room and spaces within the youth hub, ensuring good communication with reception and facilities management.
  • To work with team managers/coordinators to use website and social media to promote the youth work program and outcomes delivered to a wider audience.

Project Delivery:

  • Oversee the impact measurement and data collection for youthwork activities via lamplight MIS system.
  • Review Youthwork quality and performance, resolving any issues and initiating appropriate corrective action if needed (with relevant managers/coordinators).
  • Work in partnership with YMCA St Helens Youthwork management team, and partners to manage a central diary of youth activities
  • Lead in ensuring evaluations and evidence collections (for outcomes and outputs) are efficient, effective and collect relevant required information and are implemented regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate organisational/project policies and procedures.

 

Program Management:

  • Deliver staff/volunteer training on funding and compliance related areas where appropriate.
  • Report on project/service performance to OLT and SLT as required.
  • Keep abreast of organisational policies and procedures and ensure they are followed.  

 

Safeguarding:

  • Monitor staff safeguarding training records ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures
  • Work with the youthwork leadership team to ensuring staff are informed, confident and are keeping young people safe from harm both in terms of H&S and safeguarding.
  • Keep abreast of safeguarding policies and procedures and ensure they are followed/implemented.

 

Additional Duties:

Skills and Attributes:

Essential:

  • Experience, qualifications, and understanding related to quality and assurance (e.g. monitoring and evaluating outcomes)
  • Experience of successfully monitoring and evaluating youthwork (or other relevant sector) activities with clear outcomes being delivered and reported on
  • Strong practical understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
  • Strong report writing skills (for commissioners and/or funders)
  • Good practical knowledge/understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, forms and other Microsoft 365 software
  • Knowledge & experience of working in a youthwork setting with a good understanding of youthwork
  • Good relationship/communication skills
  • very strong listening skills
  • Self-motivated with high level of initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Patience, tolerance and flexibility,

 

Desirable:

  • Experience, qualifications, and/or understanding of outcome focused youthwork
  • Experience using Lamplight MIS system
  • Safeguarding young people experience/training.
  • Flexible approach to working, able to adapt to changing landscape
  • Capacity to engage with people from various sectors, cultures and traditions.
  • Qualified in First Aid
  • Flexible approach to working, able to adapt to changing landscape
  • Current driving licence (with category B1 – or willing to train) and access to vehicle.
  • Able to promote the Christian ethos of the organisation.
  • Experience in grant application writing
  • Strong social media skills and understanding of website editing via WordPress.

25 hours per week

Salary £20,714 per Annum
